Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients with a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan. Up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year may be accessed, depending on individual circumstances.
What this means in practice is that you will pay the full fee following the conclusion of the appointment and you will receive $145.25 back in to your nominated bank account - we will submit this to Medicare on your behalf and the rate usually goes back into your nominated account 24 hours later
Full payment is required on the day of the appointment. Payments are processed via a securely stored card, and Medicare rebates are claimed on your behalf and usually returned to your nominated account within two business days.
Private-pay clients are welcome. If you have private health insurance with psychology cover, you may request a receipt to claim directly from your insurer.
Justine provide relationship therapy for couples seeking support with communication, connection, and navigating challenges.
Medicare rebates are not available for couples or relationship counselling. Full payment is required on the day of the appointment.
As a private practice, we do not receive payment when appointments are cancelled at short notice or not attended. We require at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or not attended, will incur the full session fee, charged to the card on file.
Further appointments cannot be booked until outstanding fees are paid.
This policy is consistent with Australian Psychological Society guidelines.
To claim Medicare rebates, you will need a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) prior to your first appointment. These can be emailed or faxed to us once completed. You can book your appointment prior to obtaining your GP MHTP, but if you attend an appointment without a valid MHTP, the appointment will be billed as a private appointment
Before your first session, we will ask you to complete brief intake forms and questionnaires to help us understand your current circumstances and ensure we are well-placed to support you. You will also receive consent and privacy information. These will be sent to you via the Halaxy booking system and once completed will be stored safely in your Halaxy file
Secure payment details are required to confirm appointments, and Medicare details are needed if you wish us to process rebates on your behalf. These details are encrypted via Halaxy for safety.
